I am on a Baby Bjorn roll so today I will review the Baby Bjorn Little Potty. You can click on the links and check out my reviews of the Baby Bjorn Potty Seat and the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair. As always I will give you the positive and negative aspects of the chair based on the extensive research that I have done and put it all in one place for you to find. I don’t own this potty but since I am a researchaholic I believe it is the next best thing. If you have read any of my other posts you know by now that I love Amazon and Epinion and for the Baby Bjorn Little Potty there are a total of 161 reviews as of January 15, 2010. Out of the 161 reviews 133 reviewers gave this potty 4 stars or higher! To finish off there were 15-3 star reviews, 8-2 star reviews and 3-1 star reviews.
Here is what parents liked about the Baby Bjorn Little Potty. Simple design, lightweight, cheap price and portability were consistent through pretty much all the positive reviews. Parents who practice Elimination Communication, those who don’t use diapers or limit diaper use, really love this potty for their infants because of it’s small size. Most owners of this potty found it easy to clean and like the handle that is built into the back of the unit. The Baby Bjorn Little Potty is a one piece design and comes in 6 different colors, white, pink, red, blue, green and yellow. The built in deflector/splash guard works well for most kids and some liked the fact that this potty encourages easy squatting for a child.
Now onto the negative parts of this potty. Size was hands down the major factor with the Baby Bjorn Little Potty. Those who gave it a poor review found that it was just too small of their little one out grew it very quickly. They found the potty too tiny and too low for bigger children. The negative reviews also mentioned that the bowl in this one piece unit is much too small for bigger bowel movements if you catch me drift.
Now this is just my opinion but if you have a larger child or are not starting potty training till your child is older, say 18-24 month range, this potty may be just too small. On the other hand if you are a parent who is practicing Elimination Communication or wants to put their child on the potty when they are quite young and small, the Baby Bjorn Little Potty would be the perfect fit. This potty would also make a great fit to throw in the trunk in keep for emergency road pit stops.
Happy Training!
P.S If you want to check out the actual reviews from Amazon and Epinion here are the links. Also note that if you happen to click through one of my links and make a purchase at Amazon I do receive compensation. |

Looking through all my notes of potty’s and stuff I decided that today’s post would review the Safety 1st Potty n Stool. If you have read any of my other review posts you will know how my reviews go but for those who don’t…:)
I will give you what I gathered doing my own research throughout the internet, the good the bad and the ugly, everything you need to make the right choice. So let’s talk about the Safety 1st Potty n Stool…
Crunching the Numbers
Today we will start with my two favorite sites to get the low down on everything. Amazon had 29 reviews of this product and they broke down like this. 5 star rating: 4, 4 star rating: 5, 3 star rating: 2, 2 star rating: 7, 1 star rating: 11. As for Epinion there were a good number of reviews, 77 in fact and they break down like this: 5 star rating: 10, 4 star rating: 22, 3 star rating: 10, 2 star rating: 21, 1 star rating: 14. For those who like percentages like me
The Good Things Moving on to the things that people liked about the Safety 1st Potty n Stool (affiliate link). This potty’s positive attributes include the following benefits.
The Bad & Ugly Things As promised here is the bad and ugly about the Safety 1st Potty n Stool.
My 2 cents Before I get into my 2 bits, if you want to read some reviews, click here to get the Amazon review and click here for the Epinion reviews. Based on the overall reviews from Amazon and Epinion alone I personally don’t think the Safety 1st Potty n Stool is going to make it onto my list. The biggest put off for me is the effort involved in the cleaning part, not too mention the fact that the splash guard is no good. Now that is just me but it is enough alone to turn me off but hey it would be a boring world if we all loved the same thing. Remember that 41 reviewers gave Potty n Stool 4 stars or better. So maybe this potty would be perfect for you, check all you want to know about the Safety 1st Potty n Stool here.
Happy Training!
P.S If you own a Safety 1st Potty n Stool, lets us know what you think of it, we would love to hear about it |

Continuing along the Baby Bjorn journey, today’s post is going to give you a review of the Baby Bjorn Potty Seat, also known as the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer. As previously mentioned I have yet to start potty training my 18 month old daughter Alexis but the time is coming close and I have been on a potty training information gathering marathon the last few months. I figured that since I have already done a review on the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair today would be a great time to talk about Baby Bjorn’s Potty Seat.
Once again I will tell you that I do not own a Baby Bjorn Potty Seat, not yet anyways.
I will always tell you both the positive and the negative aspects of this potty seat based on my research. I love Amazon and Epinion and there are currently 261 reviews on just this potty seat as of January 14, 2010. Out of 261 reviews there were 251 reviews that were 4 or 5 stars! Only 4 gave 2 star reviews and 6 gave 3 stars.
Now on to the positive aspects of this potty seat. Virtually everyone loved the fact that this seat is super easy to easy and clean. The seat is very sturdy and durable and fits securely on pretty much every toilet. How? There is a plastic adjustable dial underneath the seat that expands and contracts against the existing toilet seat giving you a nice tight fit but still super easy to take off. Parents seem to really enjoy the nice simple design and the option of 5 different colors, white/blue, white/black, white/read, yellow/green and pink/white. One of the biggest things parents love about the Baby Bjorn Potty Seat is the face that it is very lightweight making it easy to transport and travel with.
On the negative side of things the few people that gave it a low review score did not like the price of $30 , most loved the seat enough that they were OK with $30. Of course good old Amazon has the Baby Bjorn Potty Seat for $22.50 right now.
Based on my research and what other owners had to say, the Baby Bjorn Potty seat would be a great purchase for pretty much most people. Whether you are training on the “big people” right from the get go or need a seat for the transition from the potty chair to the toilet, 89% of reviewers gave this a big thumbs up.
Happy Training! P.S As mentioned I am a big fan of Amazon and Epinion. A great source of reviews from real people who own the product. Amazon does give a compensation to me if you happen to click on one of my links and make a purchase but I hope you find this site helpful enough that you don’t mind |

Travel potties are one of the great inventions that are now available to parents who like to travel and the Kalencom Potette On the Go Potty seems to be a very popular travel potty. My 18 month old daughter Alexis is just about to start her potty training adventure so needless to say I have been doing non stop research on potty seats and chairs and everything in between. That is what inspired me to start this blog, I have spent so much time bouncing from website to website doing research that I decided to help other parents out by putting as much information in one place to make this decision easier for parents like me.
As I mentioned the Kalencom On the Go Potty is a very popular choice for many parents who travel, whether it be camping, boating, taking a crusie, etc. I will give you the low down on this travel chair both the positive and the negative and let you decide for yourself.
First, the positive. Parents love the face at just how small this potty is and the potty is available in blue, red or green. It folds flat to a meager 1 7/8″ high and can easily fit into a backpack, purse or diaper bag. Another feature parents have been impressed with is just how sturdy the unit is. The legs click into place, if you don’t hear the click then you have not set it up right. The On the Go Potty uses disposable liners that parents say are super easy for clean up, have absorbent pads in them to prevent leaky messes and are lightly scented to keep the nasty smells at bay until you can find a trash can. The unit also comes with it’s own travel bag. Whether I should have mentioned this first or now but this travel potty is cheap, you can pick the Kalencom Potette On the Go Potty up at Amazon for only $10!
There are very few negatives about this and they are related to each other. When I say very few negatives let me explain further. Amazon for example has 61 customer reviews, click here for their Kalencom Potette On the Go Potty reviews, out of 61 reviews only 7 left a review of 2 stars or less, the other 54 were 4 stars or higher. Now what those parents did not like about this travel potty is the fact that it is so small. These parents did not like just how short the potty is and found that their kids had a very difficult time sitting so low, when erect the potty stands 4 1/2″ high. So if you have a tall child you may find that the Kalencom On the Go Potty too small.
There you have it, the complete low down on the Kalencom Potette On the Go Potty, all on one web page

I wonder how many parents have asked that question. Some people loved their musical potty chair purchase and some hate them. No matter what type of training apparatus you are using there are some things that no matter what you need to look for, music or no music. Check out the post on choosing a toilet training seat and it will give you a better idea on what exactly you should be looking for.
Once you have an idea of just the kinds of things to look for in a potty then move onto thinking about any extras you would like or your child would like, such as music, some spit out a sticker when kids have a bowel movement
Seriously though, when it comes down to a musical potty chair, seriously consider the fact that you can live with it. Now this is just my opinion but there are already enough gadgets and toys that make noise so when in the heck does the toilet need to! At the same time for those that it does not bother and there kids really enjoy music then hey, have at it, get yourself a super cool musical potty chair. I’m sure your kid will love it and if I am ever over at someones house who has one, I am totally going to have it make music.
As a matter of fact we ended up buying a musical potty chair because it was one of the few that Alexis like sitting on. I just made sure not to assemble the musical part of the potty chair

Deciding on which training unit you are going to use can be a difficult decision, especially if you are like me and have never potty trained before. Looking around I discovered that the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair seems to be a very popular choice for many parents. Now I realize that to provide a unbiased review of this potty chair and any others, I should own them myself but if I was going to do that I would need to own a whole lot of potty seats and chairs! My goal is to give you as much information as I can, all in one place, in order to help you save time and help assist you in making a decision.
I decided to do the next best thing from owning one and that is research, research and more research. This will allow me to provide you with the best information possible on the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair. I am going to tell you what the majority of owners liked and disliked about this chair and I will do my best to tell you who I think, based on the research I have done, the Baby Bjorn chair is best suited for.
That being said here are what people like about the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair. Consumers enjoyed the fact that this chair is a good size, has nice contours that kids find very comfortable and enjoy sitting on, it is a very simple design with a bowl that is very easy to remove and keep clean. People also like the fact that no assembly is required. People also appreciated the height of the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair for children and they found that the side arms offer added comfort and stability to the chair. Lastly, people really loved the fact that the chair comes in 6 different colors which makes it a breeze to match your bathroom decor. One person went as far as to say that is was the 2nd best purchase they had made for their child aside from a dresser!
Before I get into what people did not like about the chair let me tell you this, Epinions has 7 reviews on this chair and everyone of those reviewers recommended purchasing the Baby Bjorn. Amazon has, as of January 8, 2010, 369 reviews of the chair! Of those 369, 280 gave 5 stars, 52 gave 4 stars, 15 gave 3 stars, 10 gave 2 stars and only 12 gave 1 star. I don’t know about you but when 90% of the reviews give a product 4 stars or better I feel pretty good about it.
As promised here is what consumers disliked about the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair. People thought that paying $25-$30 for a potty was a bit pricey but thanks to good old Amazon you can now get the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair for under $20. Almost all who wrote a con about the chair, while not very many, complained about the size of the splash guard. They did not like the fact that the splash guard could not be removed and they found it a little large. They had issues with pee getting everywhere and their children had difficulties with the splash guard getting in the way. Now perhaps they did not have their child positioned correctly on the chair but I promised to tell you the good and the bad
The majority of people love the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair and it seems to me that after reading a ton of reviews this chair should be a great fit for your child but especially boys. Whether your child is big or small, boy or girl, 90% of owners recommend this chair.
For those of you who enjoy videos here is a short video from YouTube reviewing the Baby Bjorn Chair:
Happy Training!
P.S My two favorite places to do research when it comes to any product is Epinons.com and Amazon.com. Why? I like them because you can easily get the opinions of literally hundreds of consumers with a few clicks of your mouse. To read the Epinions reviews click here and for the Amazon reviews of the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair click here. Another nice perk of Amazon is that if someone happens to purchase something by clicking on my link I receive a compensation. |

Thinking that picking out a toilet training seat would be an easy task, I was shocked at just how many different models are available. Being a parent who has never potty trained anything other than two cats I was in for quite the surprise and was soon overwhelmed with the amount of choices.
In order to help other parents out I decided to put this post together to give a few things to consider when it comes time to buy your little one their own toilet training seat. First off, remember that the style of seat should reflect the needs of the home, the preference of you the parent and most importantly the personality of you child.
Safety first is something we always hear about in life and choosing a toilet training seat is no different, so I will start with this. You want to avoid training seats with seams or crevices in them. Not only can this make cleaning a difficult task but those seams and crevices can be very good a pinching the skin on your child’s bottom. The last thing you want is your child to be afraid of the potty because the last time they sat on potty the potty took a bite out of them.
Another safety factor to consider is stability. You don’t want your little munchkin to be slipping and sliding all over the toilet. Look for a toilet training seat that has a wide base, this helps ensure that the seat remains where is belongs and is not rocking all over.
Handles are another consideration you want to think about. Handles allow your child to hang on if they feel a little scared and provide a nice sense of security. They also can help when it comes time to push that number 2 out
Lastly, remember to consider who will be using the bathroom. Do you have a bathroom that is going to used for your child and your child alone during potty training? If you have a bathroom that is dedicated to the child then you may want to consider a semi-permanent toilet training seat. The Xpress Trainer is a great choice and is available for both round and elongated toilets. Take a look at the Xpress Trainer Round Toilet Training Seat and the Xpress Trainer Elongated Toilet Training Seat.
If the bathroom is shared or the whole family is using the bathroom make sure you get a seat that is easy for others to remove and for you to take in another bathroom if need be. Check out the Potty Scotty Toilet Training Seat for boys and the Potty Patty Toilet Training Seat for girls, kids love the little characters and they are easy for adults to remove.
Hopefully these few consideration will help you when it comes time to choose a toilet training seat for your child. Remember to always keep in the back of your mind when looking at seats is that this is for your child so consider what will help motivate him or her in one of the biggest steps so far in their young lives.
As always, Happy Training! |

Thirty years ago who would have thought that something as simple as choosing a potty training seat could turn into a mind boggling experience. As a parent who is getting ready to enter the world of potty training for the first time in his life I have started to look into the whole process. All I can say is Oh My Gosh! I have read a few things, talked with other parents who have gone through potty training, and started to look online and I have very quickly realized that this is no simple decision.
Potty training seats and chairs are probably the single most important piece of equipment in this whole process and there are literally hundreds of models to choose from. Trying to decide on a seat or chair is actually something that every parent really needs to look at and figure out what will work best for them and their child’s needs because lets face it folks, if the kid hates the potty they aint going to use it!
Every child is different and for that matter so is every parent and when it comes time to get your first potty I have done some research that will hopefully help other parents in making their decision. Below are a few pros and cons for the potty training seat and chair.

There you have it, a few simple yet very important pros and cons to consider when it comes time to get your little one on their way to “going on their own”
