Handles are another consideration you want to think about. Handles allow your child to hang on if they feel a little scared and provide a nice sense of security. They also can help when it comes time to push that number 2 out

Lastly, remember to consider who will be using the bathroom. Do you have a bathroom that is going to used for your child and your child alone during potty training? Potty training seats and chairs are probably the single most important piece of equipment in this whole process and there are literally hundreds of models to choose from. Trying to decide on a seat or chair is actually something that every parent really needs to look at and figure out what will work best for them and their child’s needs because lets face it folks, if the kid hates the potty they aint going to use it!

Cons

• Seats can only be used in the bathroom
• Kids feet dangle over the edge of toilet instead of being firmly planted on the floor
• If the whole family is using the same bathroom it can be a nuisance removing the training seat all the time

Potty Chair

Pros

• Less intimidating than the real thing
• Kids tend to enjoy have their own private potty
• Feet are firmly on the floor making it easier for a child to use their muscles to initiate a bowel movement

Cons

• Sits on the floor and can get in the way, especially if you have a smaller bathroom
• Parent has to manual clean, dispose of waste and disinfect the removable bowl
• Not portable
